Bachelor's Degree Program (BBS)

Frequently Asked Questions and Answers...

1. How much is tuition for the two-year program?

Nothing. There is no tuition cost to attend Bear Valley's two-year program. This program is provided as a work of the Bear Valley church of Christ and is supported by hundreds of individuals and congregations. The only costs to students are some basic fees, books and living expenses while here in Denver.

2. Are the degrees you offer nationally accredited?

No. Our program is approved by the Colorado Board of Education for the issuing of degrees. We are working toward national accreditation. However, this is a long, difficult and expensive process. The reality is that we may never achieve accredited status. However, many schools accept our credits toward more advanced degrees.

3. Can women attend your two-year program and receive a degree?

Yes. However, it is important to note that our program is design to train preachers. This obviously poses a number of problems for women in our program as we do not allow women to take classes in public speaking and preaching. We have a great program for women designed with women's ministry issues in mind. This Women's program is required for our student wives.

4. Are students allowed to keep a job while in school?

No. Our program of study is intensive enough that it is not possible for students to work while in school. Students need to come and focus on their studies as much as possible.

5. How long are students in class each day?

Our students attend five (5) courses each week with 6 classroom hours for each course. Students attend classes from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday and Friday and from 8:00 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday. Each day we have chapel from 10:00 for approximately 30 minutes and a one hour lunch break.
