The Instituto Bíblico de Honduras (IBH) began classes on April 13, 2009 in Danlí, Honduras, a town of approxi- mately 40,000, located in the mountains of this Central American country, 90 kilo- meters from the capital (Tegucigalpa) and about 20 miles from the Nicaraguan border. Danlí is located in a beautiful valley along the Pan American Highway, in
the region of El Paraíso (Paradise). There have been many missionary efforts in this area of Honduras by the churches of Christ, and there are, as a result, many small congregations located nearby.
The Alpha Class of IBH currently has three full time students. Each quarter the students study four classes of the curriculum. Classes are seven hours long each
day. These men are dedicated to training to be better able to preach the Gospel to the lost and are already putting into practice what they are learning in the classroom. At the end of each quarter the students participate in a campaign. Dur- ing the quarter, the students preach, teach and otherwise help local congregations, with Bible Studies, youth activities, etc.
At present, there is a budget shortfall of approximately $500.00 per month. While basic necessities are being covered, the institute is unable at this time to have a regular plan to build up its library and purchase text books for the students. We are dependent upon visiting teachers to bring some new additions to the library, but there is a great need for more books, particularly basic resources and research tools such as Bible Dictionaries, Commentaries, etc.
