Master's Degree Program (MBS)

The Bear Valley Bible Institute of Denver has developed a Master of Biblical Studies degree program for preachers and Christian workers in the Lord’s church. It is a 32 hour program, with 6 hours being completed through a thesis or ministry project.

This program was designed with the local minister in mind. You are only required to come to the Denver facility for two “blitz weeks” of one week each. One is scheduled in the fall and one in the spring. The rest of the course work is completed in your ministry setting through in-ministry courses. In our Master of Biblical Studies program you study what you do and do what you study.

In the BVBID program, courses are delivered in a variety of formats. This allows for flexibility as you plan your studies around your weekly schedule.

Two weeks of on campus courses offer you an opportunity to come to Denver twice during your degree program. During these weeks you will study four 3-hour courses, which will require pre-class preparation and post-session completion work. After each week of two (2) courses you will have 90 days to complete your assignments. You can come to Denver and earn your Master’s degree without missing a Sunday in your local work.

Four in-ministry courses are completed in your local ministry setting. These involve reading assignments, reports, ministry projects, evaluations, papers, and other in-service assignments. You use what you do.

Each Master’s candidate must write a thesis or take an additional 6 hours of coursework. The thesis subject must be approved by the vice president of academic affairs and president in advance.
